Happy and Safe Holidays

Just thought I would try to re-invigorate our blog. I wish each and everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving Holiday. Remember Anyone that wants to apply for a scholarship must apply by Decemeber 1 2008. Ed, Harvey and the staff are comstantly working behind the scenes to make ILEETA and even greater success in 2009!! It will be an exciting year for us!!!!

Two Part Question for Trainers

To get some dialogue going I post the following questions, please feel free to jump right in.




First Part:

Have we as trainers prepared our departments etc adequately to protect against terrorist use of IED's (Improvised Explosive Devices) ?

Second Part:

Have we as trainers prepared our departments etc adequately to protect against terrorist use of Homicide Bombers?

Your response has been overwhelming, 46 requests, make that 47 in the past 6 hours! Keep them coming and I will get the invitations out to you as soon as I can! I will try to check my e-mail three to four time a day, but sometime I cannot because my Chief actual expects me to get out on the street from time to time. I remind you all that the 2007 Seminar is fast approaching and that means yet another great Donut Contest to raise money for the National Law enforcement Officers memorial Fund and the ILEETA scholarships. Please remember we need scholarship applicants in order to give the scholarships Out. Find deserving men and women in your home areas and have them apply. The International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association is an organization by, for and about Instructors and training for the criminal justice professions. Our basic premise is "Wisdom and Courage Through Knowledge and Skill" Building on that premise we invite and encourage you as a member of ILEETA to post articles and respond to training discussions. As with all ILEETA sponsored activities we ask that your posts are professionally structured. Do not attack other persons for what they think or their training methods. ILEETA is a peer to peer organization, if you have a disagreement with another trainer, debate the issue not the personality. Free exchange of ideas is what we encourage. We encourage this though great communications, a great yearly seminar and great member benefits, this blog being one of those benefits.

As a member of your Board of Advisors, I can tell you that we listen to members and respond to members’ needs and wants, this blog is a result of your requests. I have taken on the responsibility of being the monitor of this blog. I will not censor any posts, however if a post attacks an individual or an organization or gets out of the realm of professionalism I will contact the member who made the post before it is posted for public view and discuss it with them.
